About Me
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who treats teens, adults, and families. I specialize in treating those with addiction, anxiety, depression, family conflict, and mood disorders.
My passion is working with teens and young adults. I focus on identifying and resolving issues such as: low self esteem, substance abuse, curiosity or struggles to maintain sobriety, lack of direction or purpose, failure to launch, familial issues, and life stressors.
With teens and families, I facilitate family sessions to help clients and families improve communication skills, resolve conflict, increase intimacy in familial relationships, and ultimately bring families closer together. I also offer parent coaching sessions to assist parents as they go through challenging times with their teenagers.
My approach to therapy is based in a psychodynamic framework, and I utilize family systems when working with teens and families. The relationship is the most important part of therapy to me, thus I gear my approach to each individual and family towards building a strong connection with those I treat.
Early in my career I worked at the renowned Maple Counseling Center in Los Angeles where I developed a strong framework for psychodynamic therapy. I have carried and built on that knowledge in my work with college students struggling with addiction and a variety of mental health issues at USC’s The Haven, and Pacific Teen Treatment.
When I am not practicing therapy, you can find me cuddling with my long haired dachshund, Chuy, playing hockey, or attempting something creative in the kitchen.
